5 to 8 years old judo session

Juniors (5 to 8 years old)

Our junior sessions for children aged 5 to 8 are a fun and safe introduction to judo.

At this age, we focus on movement, balance, coordination, listening skills and learning how to fall safely. Children are introduced to basic judo techniques through structured games, simple drills and partner exercises.

The aim is to help young children build confidence while enjoying physical activity in a controlled and supportive environment.

Juniors (8 years old +)

Our junior sessions for children aged 8 and above build on the basics and introduce more structured judo training.

Judoka start to develop better technique, stronger movement, improved fitness and a deeper understanding of judo. Sessions include warm-ups, technical practice, groundwork, standing techniques and controlled randori.

Children are encouraged to progress through the grading system and develop confidence in their own ability.

This session is suitable for beginners and more experienced juniors.

adult judo session

Adults & Teens

Our teens and adults sessions are suitable for complete beginners, returning judoka and experienced players.

Training includes technical judo, fitness, groundwork, standing work, combinations, counters and randori. Sessions are structured but friendly, allowing each player to train at a level that suits their ability and goals.

Judo is a great way to improve strength, fitness, mobility and confidence. It also offers a practical and challenging form of self-defence, while keeping the values of respect and control at the centre of training.

monthly open mat randori session at ringwood judo

Monthly Open Mat Randory

Our monthly Open Mat Randori session takes place on the first Monday of each month. We often welcome judoka from neighbouring clubs, giving everyone the chance to practise randori with different training partners.

The session runs from 8:00pm to 9:30pm and is best suited to teens and adults who already train in senior or adult classes.

If you are new to judo, do not worry. We will help you choose the right session based on age, experience and confidence level.

Children can start with a beginner-friendly class, while adults and teens can join at a pace that suits their fitness and experience.
